Host: How can I tell if I am getting the right treatment and advice to prevent strokes? Dr. Nina Solenski: One of the ways to tell is to be able to have a very frank discussion with your physician, with your doctor. You need to ask the questions, "Do you think, my diabetes is under good control? Do you think I am on the right medications? "The most important thing that I like to see in my patients is that they are proactive and that they realize that the more that they advocate for themselves, probably, the better cure that they are going to have.
