I am Barry Rosenthal and I live on Martha’s Vineyard at Edgartown, Massachusetts to be exact. I own an ad agency—a national ad agency called BR Creative. You can check it out at brcreative.com and I also own a night club on Martha’s Vineyard called Outerland. It used to be called the Hot Tin Roof. And do not ask me why. I am Barry Rosenthal here to talk about keeping fit over 50 and I know, I am over 50. Keeping fit is not just one thing. It involves eating well. It involves exercise, healthy sleep habits and keeping your brain active. I have talked about some of those in other tips. Also, let us talk about exercise. Thirty minutes a day, a few days a week for aerobics, body toning, weight lifting, I keep a couple of 15-pound dumbbells in my room and do some sit-ups and stretching. Stretching is important also. Stretching, as you get older, your muscles atrophy. They tighten up. Stretching is key. I do that two or three times a day. Swimming, a lower impact activity, physical activity as well as cycling and swimming is great for cardiovascular exercise. So the older you get, it is important to keep fit and the harder it is to keep fit. But do it! It is very rewarding!
