Namas te everybody and welcome to the ongoing video series here on mastery of meditation. Today we have a special treat for you. Today we are going to demonstrate Kapalbhati Pranayama. Kapalbhati Pranayama is a terrific breathing exercise. It has a long, long, long list of benefits and at the same time it is an easy exercise to do. So that is a good combination to have, an encyclopedic list of benefits and at the same time an easy Pranayama to practice. I would not give all the details about the benefits, cautions, et cetera on the video as that is already been extensively documented on websites and go ahead and hit that article to read all about those aspects of this Pranayama. Here I just want to concentrate on giving you a demonstration on how to practice Kapalbhati Pranayama. So I come into Dhyani Mudra, I have my wrist resting gently on my knees. My spine is nice and elongated. Head is nice and leveled. I keep everything relaxed. Everything stays relaxed, the face, the shoulders, et cetera. And to do this Pranayama, I am going to exhale sharply through the nose while my abdomen is being pulled in and I am going to allow the inhalation to take place as a simple recoil without any emphasis. So I am going to emphasize the exhalation, exhaling sharply through the nose, pulling in my abdomens, go ahead and expel the air from my system and I am going to allow the inhalations to take place as a passive recoil. And then I repeat and when I find the nice rhythm and I continue at that pace. So here is a demonstration of Kapalbhati Pranayama. (Demo) That is all there is to it. So just to review, I am exhaling sharply through the nose. My abdomens are being pulled in. And I am allowing the inhalation to take place in a passive recoil fashion with the diaphragm and abdomen expanding back out, allowing me to take the air back into my system. One additional note, I do want to make with Kapalbhati Pranayama is that this Pranayama along with the benefits of helping the respiratory system, digestive system, abdominal muscles is really excellent for purging your system on negativity. Whether that be emotional negativity, physical illness, diseases or mental negativity in the form of habits you are trying to break et cetera, Kapalbhati is a beautiful exercise for getting rid of all of that from your system. To assist you in doing that, I want you to engage your mind as you expel the air forcefully. So as you are doing this Pranayama, visualize whatever negativity that has been kept within leaving your system with each exhalation throughout the exercise, keep on visualizing yourself, throwing that system, expelling it from your system, purging your system of it. I am going to give you another quick demonstration of Kapalbhati Pranayama. There is really no beginner, intermediate or advanced versions here. You just increase the rounds, increase the time, as your capacity grows. So here is another demonstration of Kapalbhati Pranayama. (Demo) That is all there is to it. Learn it, enjoy it, master it and benefit from it. Thank you everybody, God bless you all.
