Audra Lowe: We can’t let that winter weather keep you from staying in shape. Celebrity fitness trainer Jackie Warner shows you how to stay motivated especially when you're stuck in doors. It’s all in Andrea Metcaf: If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to train with a celebrity fitness trainer, today is the day we’re going to tell you. This is Jackie Warner new DVD personal training with Jackie. Here, the power circuit training workout. Tell us a little bit about what it’s like to be a trainer out in L.A.? Jackie Warner: Well, it’s a fabulous job. I love it. It’s very rewarding. I do get to train with celebrities which you know that style of training is very different than the regular person. Celebrities are used to getting anything they want in a moments notice. And so you have to really shake it up and keep them very interested all the time or you're going to lose that celebrity client. So, you know— Andrea Metcaf: How do you keep people motivated? That’s what I want to know. I ever once don’t need, I want to workout and by day three I just don’t feel like it anymore Andrea. How do you keep them motivated? Jackie Warner: Shake it up, keep them moving doing different things like I box, I Muay Thai with them. We do some Pilates. We go outside and do incredible hikes in the mountains. I do park training. So, I just really, really keep my style a functional training moving. Andrea Metcaf: That’s a great idea because it’s really utilizing your surroundings. Now what if you're stuck indoors? Got any ideas of what we can do? Jackie Warner: Well of course, you can get my DVD, that’s one. But you know always getting a DVD and you can use even a phonebook or your table top and put your feet up on the couch and do pushups that way to work your shoulders and your chest and your back. So there are a lot of creative things. Hey, for lower body all you need to be doing is some squats and side lunges and back lunges. So there is no excuse and the other thing is the internet. You can go to the internet and get a lot of free downloads, right? Andrea Metcaf: Right, you can go to Butter TV— Jackie Warner: There you go. Andrea Metcaf: `And check out some exercise too. Tell us a little bit about your personal diet and how you use that in your training? Jackie Warner: Well my personal diet is extreme Monday through Friday and then I allow myself just like with my clients to cheat meals on the weekends. And I don’t go too crazy. I keep it with 1500 calories or under on those cheat meals. But I eat very clean, I don’t eat refined sugar. I never eat over five grams of sugar during the workweek. So never, that’s hard to do. But, you know it shows like I have a lot of energy. I work out. I have a lot of musculature and I never get sick. So that sugar intake low. That is really the key. Andrea Metcaf: We talked a little bit about ab training and you to0ld me you really don’t do a lot of sit ups. Jackie Warner: I don’t do crunches. I really don’t. I do other things like a pushup. It’s a fantastic core workout, right? I mean its’ so good. And now, do a push up, hold on to some weights, do a push up. Boom! And then a renegade, so you bring the weight up into a row. That is oblique work like crazy. So you're going to really feel that. Andrea Metcaf: Well even if you can’t lift the weight, just lifting that and a few inches off the ground. Jackie Warner: Exactly! Andrea Metcaf: You know those are some great moves Jackie. What else do you have coming up? Jackie Warner: I have a lot of things coming up. I'm shooting my new show for Bravo. I'm so excited about it, it’s called “Fintervention”. So we start shooting next month. That should be out probably early summer. And my biggest passion project, my book “This is Why You're Fat”. That’s coming out in spring and tell you what—I took about a year and half of my life writing that. So, it was a big project for me. Andrea Metcaf: I'm going to tell you, this is why you're fat.
