Insurance Coverage of a Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure Does insurance usually cover a vaginal rejuvenation procedure? Dr. Alinsod: Insurance will cover the pelvic reconstruction, bladder repair, incontinent slings, hysterectomies, uterine suspensions, but unfortunately, they don’t cover vaginal rejuvenation or the vaginoplasty to tighten the vaginal vault. They just won’t cover that part of it. So that part of it becomes the responsibility of the patient if they want that elective surgery. The labiaplasty surgery is also not covered by most insurance because they view it as a cosmetic procedure and more for comfort. They will cover it, I have had insurance cover labiaplasty surgeries for those who’ve had trauma to their labia, tear from a traumatic vaginal delivery or perhaps a bicycle accident. I had one young lady who fell on while she was riding a bicycle on to her handle bars, and she tore her labia wide open, and I was able to repair that. So that, insurance will pay for, but the majority of it, no, they won’t pay for it.
