People ask me about how acupressure can help with insomnia. Now insomnia has a lot of different reasons and acupressure can address all of them but there are some great points that might be helpful. They are both on your arm and I am going over them. The first one is called inner gate. Where it is on your forearm, right near your wrist, the way you find it, is you take your three middle fingers, you put your ring finger right on your wrist crease and then where you index finger lands, that where the point is. I put my thumb on there and then cradle the arm with my hands and you do not have to press hard with the thumb, just rest it on there comfortably. A nice way to hold it is right here by just putting it on your chest. So that is inner gate. The second part is called spirit gate, and that is right on your wrist crease, right below where your pinky is. Again with this point, you do not have to press hard. Put your thumb on there, and then cradle your hands with the other palm, and you can also hold that like this, right on your chest. A great way to hold these points is to use them before you go to sleep. So hold inner gate for 30 seconds and then spirit gate for 30 seconds. And then go back to inner gate for 30 seconds. If you can do that going back and forth for about two minutes or even up to five minutes every night before you go to sleep, hopefully, you will see some results. Again, these may not work for you specifically but at least they will help with some relaxation.
