Are halogen lights energy efficient? They use slightly less energy than incandescent bulbs, but may require transformers to use extra energy. The best option is compact fluorescent bulbs, which have a life span of the ten times longer and save up to $75 of the light of each bulb. Were new air conditioner or furnace automatically reduce my energy bill? Yes, if the unit sized and installed properly, so that it works at its peak efficiency. Improperly installed units, wastes much as one third of the energy they consume. Is it true energy-efficient green products cost more? Depends on the product.
