Hi I'm Julie Kristin from The Foundry on Melrose in Los Angeles, California and I'm bringing you your lifestyle style secret. The five points of evaluation for wine. The first thing we’re going to talk about is aroma. What you need to do first is pour a small amount of wine and now what you’d like to do is swirl it. After you’ve swirled it for just a few seconds, stick your nose all the way in the glass, take a few quick sniffs. After that, you would taste the wine but don’t swallow it. You want to swirl it around in your mouth. At this point, you're evaluating the body. Next, you would want to swallow, at which point you’d be evaluating flavor. Flavor is not necessarily the same as aroma. It could be much fruitier than it smells. After that, you’d evaluate the finish, how long it stays in your throat, how long it stays in your nasal passages. At this point it’s a very personal choice. Ultimately what you're looking for is harmony between all of these elements. And as you drink more, you will be able to evaluate them better. And that’s your lifestyle style secret.
