Eating Low with Amy Your guide to low carb, low cal, low fat cooking! Episode 25: Romaine Wraps Hi! This is Amy and welcome to Eating Low. As you guys probably know I had gola yesterday. So today we’re going to be making Romaine Wraps and if you remember on low carb you probably know what this is it’s a really simple recipe about. This one will give me a couple of more ideas for things you can do with the Romaine wrap. Now I've got our Romaine lettuce and I’ve made two leaves and rinsed the. My store doesn’t have a pre rinse so I have to wash them. I’ve washed them and sort of dried them. So I’m just going to flop them down in my plate. These are going to be the kind of our holder our bread if you will for our sandwich. So then I also got some turkey and this is buffalo style, it’s like buffalo flavor turkey, it tastes like buffalo so maybe kind of spicy. And then I measured on my scale, I’ve measured out three and about a half ounces, so 3 ½ ounces of deli turkey and I actually haven't eaten a lot of deli stuff since I’ve been on the diet. I always have a hard time time with the portion. To me this looks like a lot but it’s actually about the same as the chicken breast servings that I was eating. It just confuses me I don’t know. Deli meat doesn’t fill me up as much as the chicken breast so I have to watch it when I eat it because sometimes I’ll eat and I’m hungry again so I’ll be eating double but maybe it’s mental I don’t know. So we’re just going to put the chicken on top of the Romaine and maybe I just put on a nice little wine and you can use – I mean you can put this if you had a bigger Romaine leaf and you can just put it on one, but it seems easier to manage. You can spray down your wrap with the Wishbone salad Spritzer and this is Caesar. The Caesar is pretty good, the Caesar is a little match but it would make a good Caesar salad, you know, fake Caesar salad topping if you needed too. I always like the Balsamic and that will be good on here too. I may want just stuff this heat now because I’m going to serving all the good maintenance. I’m going to put regular dressing which I haven't had in a while either. This is the spicy range, it’s one of my favorites, I love it, I’m trying to go easy on it because it’s high cal and I’m having a hard time making the transition to maintenance because of that. I’m freaking out with the whole cal thing because I've been use to eating stuff with few calories this whole time that putting a 100 calories worth of dressing on here is not very appealing to me. So I’m going to really, really like – I mean super, super like preparing on maintenance hopefully you can tell me if I’m doing good or not. And I just put a little bit. It’s probably the few tablespoons that I'm serving so I think I did good. Next I'm going to put a little sprinkle of cheese just to make it a little more exciting and I got really little shredded cheeses because I won’t sit there and stuff this into my mouth that it does nothing for me. So that’s why I try to buy cheese in forms but I don’t like to eat unless it’s like this because it keeps me from just gnawing at the cheese all day. So there we have a wrap and then I’m going to add just to be little wacky just a little bit of my seasoning. This is just a stick old grinder seasoning, it’s kind of like salt and pepper and spices all in one. It looks sort of exciting. So I’m going to wrap this up and take a bite and see. I'm going to kind of fold it’s my end result. That’s good wow. I feel guilty. I feel really guilty eating it because it taste too good. If you're on maintenance keep it simple but I have a couple of more things to make a little more satisfying or to add a little more fat and cals since we can afford it.
