How to Make Health Baby Food in the Vita-Mix Blender Hello’ I'm Pat Geselius the store manager at Juniper Home and welcome to another product demonstration. Today we’re going to be talking about the Vita-Mix Blender. This is the professional series, CIA model of the Vita-Mix. CIA stands for Culinary Institute of America and they have endorsed this model because it is the most reliable and consistently performing type of blender that they have work within their test kitchens. If you’re interested in food that has more nutrition and food that has more fiber and foods that will cost pure allergies, sends you to the doctor less often. You want to consider making Vita-Mix a part of your everyday routine when you’re preparing your food. Today we’re going to talk specifically about how to make baby food in the Vita-Mix blender. We’re going to start by making some puréed carrots. Now this is for an infant that is under six months old. I have started by cleaning and then steaming a pound of carrots. I’m going to add them to the Vita-Mix and take the lid of like so. Pour them into the blender. I’m also going to add two apples that I’ve also steamed and this will add a sweetener to it. Put the lid on and put it on variable speed and I’m turning it up and I think we need to add a little liquid easily done. This is vegetable broth, MSG free and 100% fat free and this is going to turn this into a purée. When it’s finish with just a pound of carrots, two apples and vegetable broth. You can produce as much baby food carrots as you see pictured here that I’ve purchased from the grocery store. These are 12 jars. It’s $7.20 worth of baby carrots. This cause approximately $1.25. The next thing we’re going to make is a chicken and mixed vegetable dinner whether this is for an infant under six months or a toddler of six months and more just depends on how long you live it in the blender is to how smooth it is. Now we need to add some broth to this. I have about a half of pound of chicken that I cooked myself. I have about two cups of mixed vegetables. If you were making a toddler meal this should be sufficient for a child with about six months old and you can be assured that there are no preservatives. There’s no additional sodium. There are no flours or fillers involved. This will be much more healthy for your infant or toddler. The Vita-Mix out performs traditional blenders because in addition to chopping, blending, mixing it will also make hot soups. It will make purées. It will make ice cream and sorbet and so much more. I’m Pat Geselius the store manager here at Juniper Home. Thank you for joining us for this product demonstration of the Vita-Mix professional CIA model and we’ll look for you again.
