Everyday is a rush of activity and that can sometimes make meal times a challenge, especially when you are trying to focus more on healthy eating. Mirella Semple: It's really easy for us to fall in that fast food trap, getting some dry fruit or ordering any couple of nice sleep just to take that pressure off. I know it's not the healthiest thing to do, but it helps me out when I just don't have the time to cook. Sherri Dmyterko: Emily Richards is a renowned Canadian Chef and Cookbook Author and says planning ahead can really help you get through the busy week and all it takes is 10 minute to look through your cupboards, fridge and freezer to see what you need and what your family will enjoy. Emily Richards: Time is of the essence for all families including mine. So by using easy, healthy recipes like wholegrain pasta, dinner can be on the table before you know it. So make sure it's fun and easy and most of all delicious by using pantry staples to get dinner on the table quickly. Sherri Dmyterko: A good way to help you stay on track is by taking a few minutes on the weekend to put together a meal plan for the upcoming week and getting your kids involved in choosing some of those family meals is a good idea. Emily Richards says pasta is always a natural favorite for kids and there are so many healthy ways to prepare it. Emily Richards: An obvious family favorite is always pasta and by adding things by meats, vegetables and legumes it turns into a hearty, healthy meal. Be sure to look for a whole grain pasta such as Healthy Harvest. Whole grain pasta is a good source of fiber, protein, B-Vitamins and minerals such as magnesium and iron.
