How Hemorrhoids Develop During Pregnancy Lisa Masterson: You can have internal and external hemorrhoids and we have a graph of them, we’ve got Doctor Ordon ready to go to draw our internal -- Andrew Ordon: Right, and this – this portion right here of the anus, this point right there, hemorrhoid that forms from the blood plexus above that line would be an internal hemorrhoid. Typically, not painful, there’s treatments that are better suited for that type of hemorrhoid, external hemorrhoid would be a hemorrhoid that forms below that line typically they’re more painful especially if they get thrombose meaning that they clotted off and they’ll actually bulge out like that extremely painful.
