How Common Is Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy Bleeding in pregnancy is never normal. However, if you do start to have bleeding it’s not 100 percent that you will lose the pregnancy. But it is important that you do contact your physician so that we can try to establish what is going on, and in some circumstances up to half will continue to carry the pregnancy and stop bleeding. In general, a month is a good timeframe to look for another menstrual cycle, but it can be a little variable following a miscarriage, depending on how quick it occurred, whether it was surgical, whether it was a medical or any combination, it can influence the next time you’ll have a normal period.
