Gynecomastia Surgery Explained Dr. Travis Stork: Troy is here with his Mom Elaine and his plastic surgeon Dr. Elliot Jacobs. Thank you all for joining us. Dr. Elliot Jacob: Thank you. Dr. Travis Stork: So you start this off over there. Dr. Drew Ordon: That’s right. Welcome Elliot, I haven’t seen this young man for 15 years calling from New York City. It is good to see you again. Dr. Elliot Jacob: Good to see you. Dr. Drew Ordon: Well, this represents approximately of what you remove from Troy, almost two pounds of fatty breast tissue, when you put that on the bodies especially on a young men and that’s a lot. Dr. Elliot Jacob: That’s a huge amount. There is a young boy who really was reclusive because of this. Dr. Drew Ordon: And I know that you do more of these or as many as anybody in the country. I know you’ve really built reputation for doing male breast reductions. So tell us exactly what you did here. Dr. Elliot Jacob: Well, in this case, this is a model of a male chest and as you can see, there is an enlargement of the chest. Directly underneath it is this white area which represents breast tissue which is the same in men as it is in women. And then surrounding it depicted in the yellow is some fat. So, this shows that this is really not just fat. No amount of exercise or diet is going to do it. The breast tissue is so thick. It is almost like a golf ball and you cannot get into it with any instrument other than using a scalpel. And so that’s why we did the incision around the edge of the nipple and remove it that way. Dr. Drew Ordon: You know, let’s take a look at the way Troy look before surgery once again. And now let’s put it side by side, before and after pictures to show the comparison of the surgery. Dr. Travis Stork: Wow! Dr. Drew Ordon: At just three weeks ago right? You know, I mean it is normal first off with the redness, a little bit of swelling. Dr. Travis Stork: I still have to ask you, how are you feeling with the results? Troy: I’m feeling excellent. I can already told my mom that I would like to sign-up for a gym, take workout during the summer and I would like to get a pool. Dr. Drew Ordon: There you go. Troy: Tell my mom to get me a pool, you know. Dr. Travis Stork: Thanks for being here. Thank you also.
