Guilt-Free Weight-Loss Shake Dr. Travis Stork: And we’re talking about why your body shakes, but what about the shakes people put into their bodies because oftentimes, you walk in a store, you see shakes, healthy shake, protein shake, what’s a consumer to do because a lot of them aren’t good for you. Dr. Jim Sears: Yeah, I mean this is -- comes out of the can. Basically, there’s water and chocolate and sugar in here. Not a whole lot of good stuff. Dr. Travis Stork: So is it best in your guys opinion to make shakes at home. Dr. Lisa Masterson: Oh yes, because I do it all the time. I use nice and healthy ingredients. Dr. Travis Stork: And it doesn’t mean that all the shakes that all the shakes that you buy pre-made are bad for you. But some of them, if you really look at the ingredients, they are not good for you but this is the type of shake you know it’s good. It’s called the guilt free weight loss shakes. So, what you’re going to do is you’re going to add three quarters of a cup of plain Greek yogurt. It’s a great swap for ice cream and actually two times of protein of a regular yogurt which helps to give you a fuller longer. And then what you want to do is add one cup of frozen raspberries, you can even add more organic raspberry juice, those are rich in antioxidants, high in fiber, and one cup -- that’s eight grams of fiber. It keeps you regular Jimbo, Dr. Jim Sears: Oh yeah. Dr. Travis Stork: That’s important. And here’s the part all you ladies and men are going to love, take 1.6 ounces of dark chocolate, chop it up, because that’s actually rich in flavor which are antioxidants, it may even help to keep your cholesterol down from gathering in your blood vessels. It can reduce risk of blood clots, so that’s all the good thing. Dr. Jim Sears: Wouldn’t that maybe like 1 square, is that one or two squares, I guess. Dr. Travis Stork: Yes, exactly. Dr. Jim Sears: So not the whole bar. Dr. Travis Stork: But then, here’s the best part. That took maybe all of 45 seconds to throw all those in a blender, then you put it in this handy dandy Shake And Take by Solutions. Grind it up. So what I love about this is it’s convenient because you mix it up, and then you can grab it and drink on the go. Dr. Jim Sears: On the go, yeah. Dr. Travis Stork: So, hold on. Dr. Jim Sears: I want to try this. Dr. Travis Stork: If you’re going to drink with the lid off, what I love to do is you can actually take some nuts, so chopped up whatever you want, you could chopped up some almonds, walnuts, half a cup, put them on top because this lowers your risk for heart disease, can improve your risk for diabetes. And this helps you, so you’re not going to run for a fast food. Dr. Jim Sears: You what I add to my shakes, a lot of cinnamon because that kind of helps to prevent diabetes too. Dr. Travis Stork: It’s a great call, so shall we try a little. Dr. Jim Sears: Cheers! Dr. Lisa Masterson: Cheers! Dr. Jim Sears: Oh, that’s good. Dr. Travis Stork: Really good. Dr. Lisa Masterson: It’s good. Wow. Dr. Drew Ordon: I can tell there’s a lot of sugar in there. Dr. Jim Sears: Yeah, but it’s sweet. Dr. Travis Stork: One thing is good in this and I want everyone to focus on this at home, use raspberries, use fruit to sweet your shakes. Not sugar.
