Guidelines for Autism Screening The American Academy of Pediatrics recently came out with some guidelines that recommend when doctor should be doing standardized screening. For nine months, 18 months, 24 and 30 months with an additional autism screen at 18 months and 24 months. Parents know their child best. They should follow that instinct.
