Audra Lowe: For the fast few weeks Better and GE Healthymagination have been asking women just like you to take a pledge for better health and one of the most popular pledges is to exercise more. We’re really sticking to that same old excise routine that can be a challenge. Fitness expert Andrea Metcalf is here and she have got five new ways to exercise an interesting ways exercise, right Andrea? Andrea Metcalf: Fun ways you got to shake it up and do different things to your body and the routines you can be renew. Audra Lowe: Exactly so I'm anxious to hear what you have to say about these different exercises. Yeah, the first one Zumba everybody is talking about this one now. Andrea Metcalf: Zumba is a lot of fun in fact there's international dance rhythm and its alternating strength training and dance moves so you're burning a lot of calories, burn out a lot of fat and just flashing away that body and a lot of fun. Audra Lowe: Right and so popular it must be working a lot of people like it too. Now rock climbing, it use to be able to just do that outdoors now you can do it indoors as well too makes it even more fun, right. Andrea Metcalf: And its great upper body strength and core it’s something you can do with your kids or your friends because you always need someone to hold the rope while you're climbing up the wall. Audra Lowe: Exactly. Andrea Metcalf: And it’s also like very stimulate because you have to think about what you're doing. Audra Lowe: A lot thinking about the Boot Camp as well. A lot of people have been thinking about doing this too. It’s really good to have someone else motivating you in this, right? Andrea Metcalf: Well Boot Camp class has been around for years and you're high intensity there are old school moves like jumping jacks and push ups and things that you can take right in to your backyard so take a few classes then you can do a few on your own and it really burns the calories. Audra Lowe: Okay now, using your mind going a little opposite direction here keeping it quite yoga always been around as far as a good exercises are concern what do you think about that? Andrea Metcalf: Yoga is been around for thousands of year and its here to stay. Its mind body connections so you distressing the body you're increasing flexibility and at the same time you're working on the muscles all around this core so your spine it is really a great, great passion on mind. Audra Lowe: Okay so what about muscles around the mid section working that out. I know that you love belly dancing too. This is another different one. Andrea Metcalf: Well, it is different because dance is so fun, music gets you motivate but this really works on your abdominals. Every move you're thinking about your abs so you're burning a lot calories just like in any dance class but you really focus on that mid section and you know as girls over 40 I worry about that mid section. Audra Lowe: Right, but these are all great suggestions too. Is really you about getting people motivate to do something different, right? Andrea Metcalf: That’s right, break up your routine pledge to do something different and have fun because if you're having fun you're going to keep doing it and you're going to live healthier.
