Friends and Family Support during Cervical Cancer Fight How did they help me get through my life is the same way they helped me get through my cancer. I didn’t look at cancer as anything that was going to be any different than any other struggle in life and my family has been there when I am right, when I am wrong and indifferent. From my parents, my sisters, siblings, my children, but most importantly my husband, who is my bestest of friend for 21 years and continues to support me, continues to help me push forward, when I am not feeling good or not energetic, he gives me that little extra bump to help me get moving, to get up, to continue to just move and enjoy, and that is so important. My husband here, who I love dearly, hit the road and drove and traveled and stayed with me to make sure I feel better, to make sure he took my weight every day. We go to treatment and everyday he had me hop on the scale. When he saw that I wasn’t in the best of mood or sad he wouldn’t tell me the weight. He knew, he knew when to and when not to. He knew when to shove the burger a little closer to me and make me take one more bite. Even when I didn’t want to, and that is the biggest help, that is the biggest joy you could ever have.
