Fighting Drug Addiction - Monica's Story Well, sharing my story was really my support group because it keeps my addiction right out there in front of me, and if I do that then I won’t go back to using. You know, I have utilized the AA and NA and different groups like that, and they are very helpful. They are wonderful groups, and I encourage a lot of people to go to those. I also did a lot of one-on-one therapy and worked on a lot of issues that I needed to work through–the abuse, being molested by a neighbor, you know, for about three years of my life. That’s what a lot of addiction is based around abuse–verbal, physical, sexual.
