Lee Hayward: Hey! How is it going? It's Lee Hayward here from LeeHayward.com and I am with Jason Paris and he is a college football Strength and conditioning coach and he is going to run through some explosive strength drills that he uses to help to condition his athletes. Now this is probably some unique training ideas. It's not typical what you see in the gym, most people are doing slow and controlled type of work. He is really going to focus on explosive work, really athletic, fast twitch muscles fibers here and build up some overall strength and conditioning. So what are we going to do here Jason? Jason Paris: Yeah two things for you. We got dumbbell snatch. It is kind of like a bend over and roll; in that position. Chest is up. You go explosively fully extend your body, going to rest some momentum on the weight, and then you are going to jump, I wanted you to catch -- Lee Hayward: So I am just going to move back so I can get all here in the camera. So you can go -- just do a couple of reps for us. Jason is very explosive. He is actually lifting his entire body up the ground. So would you do same thing now with the other arm? Jason Paris: You can do the same thing with the other arm. You can also move two hands at once as well. So I take one more. So just a start up normally, can just do it with one arm and once you can hand by, you can turn as well, you can do this, split jerk. Lee Hayward: Alright a split jerk. So again these are Olympic lift variations that you are showing? Jason Paris: So you see how people do with the bars, you can do with dumbbells, explode up. Lee Hayward: Again you just -- that works a lot of small stabilizer muscle here because you have got to balance the dumbbells. So man, it's a total body move right there from -- everything from your ankles to shoulders. Jason Paris: It gets a little bit of everything and a lot of core in it too Lee Hayward: A lot of core. Jason Paris: Basically you can definitely use strong part. Lee Hayward: Awesome. Alright. So there you go. There is a couple of moves like, take a bit of getting used to and I obviously want to start with some leg breaking -- Jason Paris: Something fairly light, very light. Lee Hayward: Very light just you can go through the motions to get it all down pad. But again it's some unique exercises that you can try out in your workout. This is just one of several workouts videos that I shot with strength and conditioning coach Jason Paris. In future video clips, Jason and I will show some more killer exercises and workouts that will help build up your functional strength and conditioning while improving your agility, balance and explosive strength. So be sure to subscribe to my video channel so you can get early notification to when the next training video is posted.
