I just let them know that I am there for them and that I know this is difficult for them. Sherry’s older daughter had said to me, not long after she died, she was verbalizing, she verbalizes more than the little one, and she said, “I am 14 years old. I shouldn’t have lost my mother,” and I said, “You’re absolutely right.” And then she says to me, you know, “I used to go head-to-head with her all the time and I feel bad about that.” I said, “You know what, I went head-to-head with your mother all the time. It’s normal, it’s natural, that’s the way it is.”
