Dr.: Yes, I think Physical Therapy is another important aspect who are really big at promoting a self-exercise program. We want our patients swimming, elliptical training, recumbent biking, stretching, walking, doing as much activity as possible on a daily basis. Male: The muscles get stronger, you can hit a lot more things better? Dr.: It is just that, I believe that in life there is a genetic range. Take Joe Montana, he had a triple level fusion and then took the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl. We are not all Joe Montanas. I mean we don’t have this base of exercise. So I feel a person that is in better shape, aerobically as well as muscular is going to deal better with their pain problem. Is the pain going to be lessened or better? Not always, sometimes but they are going to be able to deal with it better and be able to handle an injury better so we are really big at pushing people into an exercise program on a daily basis with physical.
