Energy Boosting and Relaxing Forward Bend Yoga Poses Forward bend is a light stretch of hamstrings and they are going to also help you to open up some space in your spine particular if you’ve been standing or sitting all day a long. For the basic pose, you are going to bring your feet together and then circle arms up and overhead. Reverse the circle, bring in the finger tips down next to the toes bending at the waist. If your hamstrings are a little tight, it is okay if you bend your knees. To make the post more energizing, you are going to come in to at the same way. Only when you go down, you are going to actually stand your palms. So you lift your toes up, bring one hand underneath one foot and then repeat with the other. Again, allow your head to bend down. If you need a little bit more stretch, bend your elbows out to the side bringing your chest toward your legs. This is definitely energizing. On the other hand, we are going to make the pose more relaxing. Just grab a chair. You can do forward bends while sitting down and they feel really nice. So you are going to come take a sit in the chair, bring your feet out underneath your knees and you're just going round forward. So this should feel really relaxing. You are going to let your head hang and your arms will go a little bit limp. You can slow your breathing down here too. Whichever variation of the forward bend you do, aim to hold the position for about 60 seconds.
