We don’t tend to think about whether one is more effective than the other. What I always tell my patients is first, let's use every approach at our fingertips to get you to optimal health, and once we’re at optimal health then we can see if we can maintain good levels of blood sugar control with diet alone. But, absolutely I recommend, prescribe for my patient’s pharmaceutical medications right along with their whole foods diets and physical activity and stress reduction.
