A cardiac catheterization is also called a left heart catheterization or an angiogram. That’s a procedure where we numb up the patient’s groin area where there is a big blood vessel, and we put a small tube and feed it up into the heart blood vessels, and we squirt iodine which is x-ray dye, and we’re able to see all of the heart blood vessels in a lot of different directions as the camera spins around and see how blocked each of those blood vessels are and whether or not they need to be fixed.
