Bioidentical hormone therapy means one thing and one thing only and that is that the hormones that a woman takes are identical to the form that her body naturally produces. So rather than using, for example, synthetic hormone like Prempro, which is natural, but it’s natural to a horse, we would want to use something like estradiol, which is the form that your body was making, you know, since you were born, and so that’s the real difference. It doesn’t mean that it’s more natural. It doesn’t mean that it comes from a plant. It really means that we are trying to mimic the body’s natural production of hormones.
