For many women medications are essential, and the categories of medications that help are antidepressants, and some women find they can take the antidepressants for just ten days or so before their period rather than for the whole month, which is really kind of helpful too, and different forms of the birth control pill are very helpful. Some of the forms that have women stay on for three months so they really only have four periods a year are very popular in decreasing symptoms but there are some month-to-month ones that really are marketed that way and really seem to, because the hormones in them are formulated differently. They do real well in relieving some of these symptoms
