Does Masturbation Reduce Penis Sensitivity? Sex, Love and Dating Advice Dan: Today on Ask Dan and Jennifer, once again, masturbation! I said why not? Jennifer: Again. Dan: You’re the engine. I’ve been masturbating since I was nine and since I turned 18, the sensitivity of penis started to change. Jennifer: That’s nine years? Dan: Yeah, it is. Now, it’s taking longer to recharge and that’s what I wanted to know. Does masturbation reduce the sensitivity of the penis or is it the intensity of orgasm changes over time as you get older? Jennifer: All of the above. Dan: Yeah you’re going to hair trigger before we start. Jennifer: Yeah and if you masturbate all of the time, you have got to be less sensitive than if you masturbate once a week. I mean it’s just going to be way more sensitive. Dan: So, it could be just the frequency thing not the long term thirst. Jennifer: Yeah, age is a factor like you said less of a hair trigger. Your hormones are changing, how much and when you’re having sex or masturbating, attraction to a partner if you’re having sex with a partner. Certain medications, alcohol, how long it’s been since the last time; all these are things that you should consider. Anyway, all of those things are factors. So, unless it becomes a problem where you can't ejaculate at all, you never reach orgasm and since you’re not stimulated, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Dan: Yeah, really. Now, masturbation is a normal and natural way to relieve sexual tension, right? Less feeling, however, masturbating several times a week may make a difficult to orgasm during sex but whoever you’re having sex with. Jennifer: Well, the catch with masturbation, too much of a good thing. Dan: Yeah, I can masturbate three times a day and you’re not going to have sex in the evening or you might, maybe you will but that’s a different deal but most guys probably won’t. Now, trying masturbating with your other hand, as far as increasing the sensitivity Jennifer: Yeah, mix it up a little bit. Dan: Yeah, who knows? It’s all about trying different things. Mix it up and try and is it really causing you a problem or are you just concern that low too much over use and you’re going to lose function over time. Jennifer: Yeah, I don’t think it’s a long term curve. Dan: No, unless there’s some medical thing and if you’re concern about it, see a doctor. Jennifer: Always if you’re concerned, see your doctor, please. Dan: They’ve heard it and seen it before, it’s okay. I don’t know why people are so concern about seeing the doctor and whenever a peek is involved, they won’t see their doctor. I don’t get that. It’s okay. Jennifer: He can peek? Dan: He did. It was in the script, it was like right here at the fourth card.
