Does Exercise Have an Impact on Your Breast Milk The contents of this video are for information purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding on medical condition or before seeking any new treatment. Hi welcome to Baby Belly Fitness. My name is Kelly McBride with Babyssentials.com. Today we are here to discuss whether or not exercising has an impact on your breast milk, so I walked into my mommy and me class the other day and in front of me were two mommy’s nursing there babies. Right before class they were discussing whether or not exercising impacted the quantity or the quality of their breast milk. The answer is simply no. Mild to moderate exercise has proven to have no effect on the quantity or the quality of breast milk. And even high intensity, high frequency exercise can only slightly temporarily alter the taste of breast milk. Typically breast milk will revert back to its normal state within an hour or two. It is important that some babies prefer not to nurse after working out due to the salt on the mom’s skin due to sweating. If this occurs to you, simply rinse off your breast or even just taking a shower can wash away the taste of salt and your baby will be just as happy. So I hope somebody tips with health. Thank you very much for watching, this is Kelly McBride with Babyssentials.com
