Discussing Commonalities between Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer There’s definitely an increased risk of ovarian cancer, breast cancer survivors, and breast cancer is much more treatable. So we think more about preventing ovarian cancer in someone who has had breast cancer. Harder is ovarian cancer, like we talked about the risk of recurrence is high, and so do you start chasing down or doing things to women who try to prevent the other cancers when they already have a cancer that we have to kind of focus some attention on and deal with. So, there’s not a -- I would recommend everybody go get this test to do this if they have this. No, it’s a little bit more individualized and personalized. There is a connection, though, between breast and ovary cancer, and so when I think about general knowledge and what should women know, like everyone’s at risk for ovarian cancer. Women who have breast cancer have a higher risk, and there are preventive measures we can do and other things we can do that might decrease the risk, and so it’s worthwhile.
