What is TRX Suspension Training WatchMojo.com Annick Robinson Trainer: Pull, remember TRX is all core all the time. Veronica: All you need is one simple apparatus to perform hundreds of exercises that develop strength, flexibility movement and power. Annick: All the muscles are firing and stabilizing 4 more. Veronica: Hi I’m Veronica with watchmojo.com and today you’re taking a look at the latest in suspension training the TRX so what is the TRX suspension training? Annick: This is a new piece of equipment that was designed to figure sculpt by Navy Seals and it is essentially a set of straps that you hang from in order to do all sorts of resistance training exercises. You hold on to the straps and you move your feet so that you are reproducing any kind of exercise that you want to do say a push up or a squat, but the difference is rather than holding weights outside of your body your body is your machine. Take that knee up for your core. Good job two more. Veronica: What muscles are you working at using these straps? Annick: Well this is the secret of the TRX is that it is all core all the time. Alright here we go four more. Every single exercise uses all the stabilizer muscles of your entire body that are firing one after the other. You really feel it the day after. Alright everybody I want to see more range of motion and I want you to engage your abdominals more powerfully than they are already. Veronica: This workout was developed by the Navy Seals so does that mean you already need to be in shape to start out? Annick: Absolutely not because your own body is your machine. You’re using y our own body weight so this is functional training. If it’s too hard just step your feet back. We want the right level of difficulty so that by the 16th repetition you are screaming with the intensity the muscle burn. So often in my classes all have an equal amount of men and equal amount of women and I could have a 70 year old deconditioned woman starting for the first time standing next to one of our professional hockey players that train here and they’re both working to their own maximum intensity. No one is screaming yet but we’ve still got 4 more to go. Adjust your feet accordingly. Veronica: Now is this a workout for someone who you want to loose weight, bulk up or just tone? Annick: I think it’s all of the above because with the TRX we really do work up a sweat you will get into cardio zone for people who are looking to tone because you’re working the entire chain. Your kinetic chain is firing so your body is not only getting tighter and toner it’s actually becoming more intelligent. And for people who want to bulk up all they need to do is move their feet deeper and increase the intensity and shorten up the repetitions in order to build up bulk. We’re going to do that again but this time we’re going to take it into a high row. Squeeze the belly lean in are you ready, are you ready no grace in this class everybody what’s going on. Veronica: How long until you see results? Annick: You feel the results immediately. Pull. Most people tell me that they had so much pain in there abdominals from their very first TRX class that they have trouble turning over in bed at night. Here we go take a tempo, pull, pull! But you should quickly see the results within I would say 3 or 4 weeks if you’re consistent and you’re joining the TRX two or 3 times a week your body will change. It’s an extremely transformative tool because your working the entire system of your body not just one muscle at the time. Veronica: Well thank you very much.
