Host: I want us all to look at exactly what happens to you as your food enters your mouth and you take that first bite. You know people don't think about digestion. But you take a bite, it mixes with saliva and the saliva softens the food. It goes down your throat, into your stomach where acids and enzymes start to break it down and then it travels into your intestines. And your intestine is where most of the nutrients are absorbed into your system going to your blood stream. Then finally last but not least, you love talking about this, it gets into the colon. The colon gets rids of it, right? Male Speaker: That is where your stew actually forms in the colon, takes a little water also and then finally passes.
