EmpowHer Aks: What advice would you give other women who have been diagnosed with diabetes? Jean-Shares her health story Diabetes Well I have learned many things over the years. There are extremely important things. You must have an exercise program. You must follow a diet. You have to be very careful of eyes, feet, kidneys. These things are all involved with if you don’t do the exercise and the blood sugars run high then all these things are going to run into trouble. Fortunately, having had diabetes all these years they look in my eyes and they cannot tell that I am diabetic. They are absolutely amazed, but I have been very strict with myself, exercise program, diet. I am very careful of my feet that I have excellent circulation in my feet. If you do the things that are necessary for the disease, and it doesn’t have to become a burden, it does not, believe me, but if you follow that type of a thing then you’ll do so much better and you’ll live so much longer.
