We are the Co-Founders of Dream Team Baby; a business that helps your little one, get a good night sleep. Kira Ryan: Today we are going to show how to change your child's nursery into a sleep sanctuary. Conner Herman: The first step is to choose a location for your crib that is not directly under a window or under any air conditioning vents or possibly above heating ducts. Kira Ryan: Once your crib is in the ideal location, the next step to creating a sleep sanctuary is to eliminate any sleep detractors. Toys in your crib can really prevent children from sleeping well. So eliminate anything that makes noise or lights up. Another thing that can really prevent a baby from sleeping well is a room that's too hot or too cold. Get a room thermometer and the temperature you are looking for is between 68 and 72 degrees that's ideal for sleeping for both adults and children. The last step is look around the room and see if there are any lights that shine into your baby's crib. For example, alarm clocks. The screen looks fine when the lights are on but once the lights go down, a bright blue light emits into the crib and this could really prevent a child from sleeping well. So cover it up or take it out completely. Sunlight can also prevent a child from sleeping well. Conner Herman: That's right Kira, the best way to eliminate sunlight from a nursery is by installing black out shades and if you are wondering how dark to make your nursery think about it this way. On a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is completely darkness. You want your nursery at a level 4. Another wonderful thing to add to your nursery is a White Noise Machine. White Noise Machine is a great way to cut out any ambient noises that are coming from outside your house or possibly inside your house. Finally, a lovey is a great thing to add to a crib and if you want a make it extra special, moms you can wear your lovey for a couple of days and then when you are not able to be in your nursery you can leave a little bit of yourself. Kira Ryan: One last thing that can help your baby get a good night sleep is the Ultimate Crib Sheet. This is great because diaper leaks in the middle of the night are inevitable and when they happen you need clean up. With this you can clean up in 30 seconds.
