Eating to many sweet foods will give more than a stomachache. It could also put you at risk for the flu. A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found the eating a hundred grams of sugar significantly temper the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria for up to five hours afterward. Keep your immune system fortified by limiting added sugars in your diet. Check the labels on your food and drinks for sugar content. You’ll find the grams of sugar listed under carbohydrates.
