I was in a behavioral psyche class and we started studying trichotillomania. And my friend said to me, she poked me in the back, and she said, “That’s what you have, ha-ha-ha,” because I was always, you know, feeling my eyebrows or, you know, pulling out an eyebrow hair or something. So that’s when I first realized that oh, I think I do have this problem. It relaxes me and, before I want to pull, I just kind of get a nervous feeling, maybe it would be like an anxiety attack, but not quite as bad. So I feel anxious, definitely an anxiety, and then I just want to reach up and pull my hair because that makes me feel a lot better; it relaxes me.
