How to Organize Your Closet Hello! On behalf of TVLesson.com, I am a professional stylist, Susan Bigsby with SusanBigsby.com. I like to talk to you about organizing your closet. How in the world can you get dressed if your closet is not organized? If one of your shoes is under the bed and your jewelries over there and your clothes are all over the place and all mixed up, how in the world can you put anything together that looks like anything? So, the main thing that I address with my clients when I go into their homes to dress them is to organize their closets. I want all of your jackets hung together and then I want all of your pants hung together. Do this in colorization. Put you jeans together, put your light things together. Move into your dark things and you may want to go from casual to dressy or even hung you dressier things in another place. Then move into your tops. Put all of your tops together, go from short sleeves from sleeveless to long sleeves and colorize everything so that you know exactly where to go for the item that you are looking for. And hopefully, you know it is in your closet to begin with. Then all your nice pants that you want hung long or anything else that might be hung long, you hung in a different section. And if your hats or any of those kind of things, you can put on a shelf. This is also provided. You have the space to do this in which is really nice. Put all of your folded sweaters and your folded pieces that you do not want to get hanger marks in on a shelf that you can see. The main thing is that you can see your clothes. Moving over to a shelf where you can appropriately display your jewelry. This is wonderful. She just prop up the lid of her jewelry box with a pencil, just so that she has easy access and then everything is beautifully organized in this little drawers. Hung you dresses together. If you have a place in your closet, you can put a pegboard and some hooks, all your nice, long hanging things are there that you can go to immediately without scrounging through your drawers. Shoes are displayed beautifully so that you can see everything that you have. They are not all pushed in boxes at the top of your closet. So, if you don’t know where that thing is, you don’t have to open every box to get dressed. Moving over to sweaters and blouses and things that are a little bit dressier and maybe a little bit warmer, everything is categorized here which is beautiful. Bags are together, dressy things in one section is the most beautifully organized closet that anybody would want to have and how quickly she can get dressed and actually appears though she have some style.
