Melanie Raposo: Hi everybody! I am Melanie Raposo and welcome to The Pregnancy Show. Today, Andrea Page, personal trainer and founder of Fit Mom Canada, talks about the importance of seeking out a personal trainer for guidance to help you get started on your prenatal exercise routine. Andrea Page: It's really important to find a personal trainer, even if it's just for one or two sessions. Just to consult with them, getting with them, and find out what you can and cannot be doing. It's also important that you don't just get the personal trainer from the gym who says that they have taken some little weekend course during prenatal and postnatal certification. They have got a body of experience. At Fit Mom for example, I mean we do require that people take those the base line certifications, but there is a lot of training beyond that, that goes involved and the reality is, is most trainers aren't up to speed. So they again will dumb down your routine so much, if you're dumbing down your routine so much that you are not going to get anything out of it, that kind of defeats the purpose.
