Juliana: Hi, Juliana and John here. We are going to make my favorite dessert smoothie a chocolate almond smoothie. It's also going to be green because we’re going to add some greens in there just to make it really healthy but you can have this for breakfast or a dessert or a snack. My kids will actually like this which is really cool. Are you ready to try it a chocolate almond butter smoothie? John: I cannot wait. Juliana: It's kind of like taste like a treat like a candy bar. John: It smells good already. Juliana: Well got to start with the good news first, the greens, the spinach. This is a spinach, lots of chlorophyll which loads the body with oxygen and you want your body with loaded oxygen because cancer cells can't thrive in an oxygen rich environment. So put as much. I like to—myself with how much greens I get stuck into my blender. Okay, what next? Butter, okay this is almond butter. It's just plain almonds blended together really. You can buy this anywhere and it's really healthy and it's really delicious. It's got lot of omega3 and fatty acids. It's very healthy. So, I'll probably about a half a cup. John’s got the frozen banana ready to go. Like I always say, the frozen banana is the key to success with the smoothie. It makes it very creamy and very smooth and icy. It's really delicious. John: Now, what is this? Juliana: Do you want to try one and I'll tell you what it is? John: Yeah. Juliana: First try and I'll tell you what it is. Probably no flavoring, what do you think? John: Wow! Juliana: Ha! Describe it. John: It's very bitter like this is real chocolate. Juliana: Yeah, it is. It's a cacao nib. So it's like the coco nib. It's basically unsweetened. It's just the coco nib itself. But when you put in a smoothie, it gets this like chocolate chip kind of a flavor. It's kind of an extra. John: It's still bitter. I'm still like tasting bitterness. Juliana: Wait, before you add the milk, I'm going to add some ice because you want to make it really like frothy. Whoa okay! Ice everywhere and to top it up, we’re using con chocolate almond milk. It's unsweetened. John: How much? Juliana: Yea, pour it all in. John: All right. Juliana: That’s it. And now we’re going to blend it up in my crazy Vita Mix blender that goes nuts. Ready? It's really loud. Here we go. Blend away. Okay, now you want to get a really smooth. Let me tell you, it's green because we added a lot of spinach. You won't taste the spinach but you will see it. If you added more chocolate milk and less of the greens, it would be more green. It always kinds of turns out a different color but the green do that. It is healthy. Just imagine chocolate and in these brown glasses while you’re drinking it okay? John: It smells great. I can smell it like from far away. Juliana: What did it smell like? John: Chocolate, and butter but it's almond butter. Juliana: Right, okay, cheers! John: Cheers! John: It taste very nutty. I don’t taste the chocolate. Juliana: You don’t? John: No, but— Juliana: You know if you want to make it chocolate-y, you can do some coco powder and that would make it a little chocolatier. John: It's totally drinkable day. It's like really like green and it looks like it's from Mars but it's totally drinkable, very tasty. Juliana: Not just Mars, yeah it taste like real almond-y. but you can add a little bit of coco powder and a little bit more of the bananas or you could even use some dried pitted dates to make it sweeter. John: very goo. Juliana: Yeah cheers! John: Thank you. Juliana: Thank you.
