Chocolate is your favorite food group... Is there a way to keep the sweets and still succeed on a diet? ePamela Ofstein, eDiets' Director of Nutrition Services, explains.

[Music playing] Female: As you can tell I like sweets is there anyway I can stay on my diet and still get all the sweet stuff I love so much? Female: If chocolate is your thing getting rid of it and keeping it off your diet might be a tough one. If you can have a very small piece which is usually about an ounce of dark chocolate is what I usually recommend. That is fine. But a lot of us cannot just keep it to that one piece. So another alternative is to find something else that will satisfy your sweet tooth. For instance you could try sugar free jelo or gelatin and add some whip topping with it like cool whip or something on that idea. It is not going exactly be chocolate but it will satisfy that sweet tooth. The other thing is actually use some of your fruits in different items like that. If you take an apple and you actually cut it and you can heat it up and microwave it, it gets that nice caramelization and it has a really nice taste. Add a little bit of cinnamon on it and it is very sweet. So it may not be the exact substitute for chocolate but there are other alternatives.
