Hi everybody! I'm Melanie Raposo and welcome to Mommy's Minute. Everywhere you turn there is a risk of an accident. Here are some tips to keep your children safe from burns. First, make sure you have working fire alarms, both downstairs and upstairs, and check every month that the fire alarm batteries are still working. Also, plan a fire route in case of a fire and practice fire drills. This may sound like a silly idea, but it could save your family's life one day. When cooking, use the back burners and don't let pan handles stick off of the stove. And lastly, when you're bathing your child, run the cold water first. This will prevent your child from burning in case they climb or fall in.
