Chest Congestion Remedies for Kids Loren: I have two children, two and a half and then one. And so, since he’s in school, he is always you know bringing home a little cold and my daughter keeps getting chest colds. But none of the medicine you can give under two years old. So I wanted to know if there are any homeopathic thin I could be doing to break up the congestion in her chest. Female: It’s so much harder now that there have been so many changes and you can't give the same medicine to our kids that we gave to them many years ago. Docs, do you have any answer to that? Dr. Travis Stork: So the next area of the body, the chest. Dr. Jim Sears: That’s right. The chest especially in kids and Loren is here, so thanks for coming in. Loren: Hi, I’m very excited to be here, thank you. Dr. Jim Sears: I get a lot of questions like that about the other cold remedies for kids out there because a lot of them aren't safe for you know sometimes the bottle says age two and above and a lot of them actually say age four and above now and there's still some safety concerns so what can you do for your child’s chest cold, certainly all the non-medical things are my favorite things to do. Good steam therapy and I like to call it clapping their chest. You just give their chest some claps and then it kind of help shake lose mucus to help get it out. A good vaporizer with some like lavender oil or eucalyptus to kind of get those vapors going, it’s pretty effective and it’s safe. Dr. Travis Stork: Thank you so much.
