My name is Jeffrey Wang. I am an M.D. I am the Chief of Spine Surgery and a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at the UCLA School of Medicine. I am a spine surgeon and I only do spine. And I specialize in all disorders of the spine in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar area. Well, it depends on the pathology. Typically, women who have a herniated disc in their neck that’s pinching on a nerve, we certainly try all the conservative treatments first but if they fail conservative treatment, surgery is a very reasonable option.
