Dr. Travis Stork: He is back stage right now in our full body facial lab was skin expert to stars, Kate Somerville. Take it away Drew. Dr. Drew Ordon: Thank you Travis. That's right Kate brings a long list of celeb clients that she has treated Vernazza, Debra Messing, Paris Hilton, those are just the name a few right. And you really have dedicated your life to taking care of people's skin. Kate Somerville: Absolutely. Dr. Drew Ordon: And you have put that experience together in a new book Kate Somerville: I did, it's called Complexion Perfection. It took me about two years to write and its ten weeks to beautiful skin. And we took every skin type so it was of great projects. Dr. Drew Ordon: I can tell she is looking to my skin. I think I am going to have to get in there. Kate Somerville: Yes. Dr. Drew Ordon: And see here but today we are in the full body facial spa. We are going to start with a facial and you have heard I say it, I don't know how many times, exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Kate Somerville: Yes. Dr. Drew Ordon: Why so? Kate Somerville: Because exfoliation - the key to exfoliation is beautiful skin. And this is why? Because what happens is there is a lot of dead skin that gets capped on to the skin and if you don't release that, it makes your skin look dull, your pours look a lot larger, you know wrinkles. So you want to remove that, but properly. Okay, so I am showing here, this is one of my famous products that is called Exfolicate. Dr. Drew Ordon: I love that you get it, Exfolicate. Kate Somerville: Exfolicate. Dr. Travis Stork: You get it Drew. Kate Somerville: So what this is actually a physical exfoliation along with chemical exfoliation. So this is lifting the dead skin layer with the little beads and then you leave it on like a mask. And my favorite exfoliator as far as chemical is lactic acid, enzymes papaya and pineapple and a little bit of glycolic. And then the other treatment that we are going to do, we are going to show you and this is done at my clinic, okay and this is something called ultrasound. And what happens with when you are exfoliated? You want to actually lift and get rid of kind of glue between the death skin cells. So what ultrasound does is it actually vibrates the dead skin off and its great layer oxygenates the skin and it gives you that gorgeous glow that all my celebrities have on their red carpet. Dr. Lisa Masterson: I have actually been to your spa, which is phenomenal and had these treatments, but what if you are at home, how will you get the same sort of quality exfoliation at home? Kate Somerville: Well the great thing is, is our Exfolicate, you can buy, but you can also go to a drug store and look for those ingredients. Again you want a scrub that is not going to harm the skin, you don't want to use like a apricot scrub because it actually can cut the skin. So you want a spherical exfoliator and that's going to lift that dead skin gently but then you look for the lactic acid, the papaya and pineapple enzymes and you can do that right at home. Dr. Lisa Masterson: That's great. Good advise, Thank you.
