Question: Can a woman with an eating disorder treat herself. Dr. Vicki Berkus: No, I don't even have to think about that answer. One of the things that we know about people with eating disorders is that they don't have the sense of itself or a sense of what exactly their feeling versus, what sensations their body is having. And so someone what they mean sort may not know about their hungry or if they are full, as supposed are they angry or they sad. So, what we need to do is have professionals that they are trained in the area to be health diagnose. Number one, medical problems. Number Two, those physiatric concerns that lead to poor choices and behaviors that are in health.
