Host: Are there medical conditions that might make me more at risk to catching a cold? Ronald Turner: There does not seem to be anything that makes you more susceptible to acquiring the virus. Once you have the virus, underlying conditions can make you more sick. But the underlying illnesses generally have nothing to do with whether you catch a cold or not.
