Taking migraine medications with paroxetine. If you are using triptan migraine medications, things like Imitrex, Zomig, Maxalt and others from that family, there is a risk of getting too much serotonin release and the possibility of serotonin syndrome, and this is because both agents are contributing serotonin to your system. Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include confusion, fever, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, shaking, sweating and possibly even coma. So concurrent use of the triptan type of migraine medications with paroxetine is not recommended unless advised by your medical practitioner and they would be monitoring your condition.
