So herniated discs can be fixed with minimally invasive spine surgery and now there’s a number of different ways to do that. Traditional ways will involve the small incision in the back which is the technique I use. That surgery takes approximately 60 minutes and the patients they will leave the hospital the same day or the next day. This minimally invasive spine surgeries are very good treatment for herniated disc. And 90% of the patients are herniated disc, treated with minimal invasive spine surgery will be out of the hospital in less than a day, will be able to go back to their usual job within a week or two. So their recovery time is very short and much shorter than from the traditional open operations. Minimal invasive spine surgery for herniated disc is a covered procedure, is well accepted and your insurance will pay for it.
