Calming Patients While Waiting for Pathology Results Well, usually depending on what we are expecting, I try to give them an idea of what we’re expecting and we do sometimes get into well what would be the next step depending on the pathology results to kind of give the patient an idea of what to expect. And I think that in general, it helps ease people in society. I mean one of the biggest causes of concern when you don’t know the pathology result is you don’t know what to do next about it in case it turns out to be cancer or in case it turns out to be something that you’re not ready for. So I think the most important thing is to try to prepare the patient for what you think might be the pathology result. In that way, it kind of helps them feel like they have a pathway afterwards.
