Cardio blast calories immediately while strength training increases your metabolism over time. So combining the two, it gives you the ultimate bang for your buck, according to Prevention Advisory Board member Dr. Wayne Westcott. In a study he led exercisers who did a 25-minute circuit routine alternating one minute of weights with one minute of cycling, three times a week for 12 weeks, trimmed their waistlines by 4%.
